Job Summary

South Dublin County Council is seeking to recruit a Dog Warden who will carry out a frontline operational role in delivering its obligations under the Control of Dogs legislation. Local authorities have an extensive role and a range of statutory responsibilities for Dog Control under the following primary legislation together with several other related statutes.
1. Control of Dogs Act 1986 (as amended)
2. Control of Dogs Regulations (Restricted Breeds) 1998
3. Dog Breeding Establishments Act 2010
4. Control of Dogs (XL Bully) Regulations 2024 Dog Wardens play a vital role within local authorities, ensuring compliance with dog-related legislation, promoting responsible dog ownership, and safeguarding public safety.
